What type of trips are available to YFC members?
Applicants can apply for a wide range of travel opportunities, including Homestays, Working Scholarships and Team Travel opportunities, not to mention our amazing YFC Ski trip. Club members can also welcome and host Young Farmers from all over the world.
Homestay trips A YFC homestay is unique. It allows you to experience a totally different way of life; if you want to be totally immersed in another culture by living as a local, and not just through city sightseeing, then a homestay could be right for you!
Homestay trips last from two weeks to three months and you will stay in the home of a member of a rural youth organisation in the country of your choice. It’s a great way to make new friends and experience rural life in a different country - but be prepared to get stuck in to get the most out of your trip!
Working Scholarship
Every year, NFYFC partners with the C Alma Baker Trust to sponsor four YFC members to take the trip of a lifetime — a three-month working placement at Limestone Downs, an extensive sheep, cattle and dairy farm on New Zealand’s North Island. So if you are looking to expand on your practical agricultural experience, combined with a big adventure, this is the trip for you!
Rural Youth Europe SeminarsJoin young farmers from across Europe and make new friends for life. Rural Youth Europe (RYE) is an international youth organisation, bringing together rural young people from more than 20 counties. Their main aim is to help rural young people share ideas and experiences and promote an awareness of rural issues.
Team TravelNot sure about heading off on your own? Why not choose a team travel trip and you can share your adventure with other YFC members from across the country.
