Welcome to the Parents’ Area of Gwent YFC
Young Farmers’ Clubs provide an opportunity for young people to develop, to learn and to enjoy themselves by offering a diverse, fun and educational programme of activities planned by members – for members.
Each club is supported by their county federation and affiliated to Wales YFC and The National Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs (NFYFC).
Club meetings are usually weekly and are organised and run by YFC members. The club elects club officers annually to take responsibility for the club on behalf of its members and organise the activities that members take part in. Weekly meetings can range from talks and trips to preparing for competitions or fundraising for charity.
In clubs with largely younger members, there is a dedicated team of adult volunteers who are elected to help support the Young Farmers’ Club members to run the club. All adult volunteers within YFC are screened for suitability using safe recruitment procedures set out in the Safeguarding Policy.
YFC is a voluntary youth organisation and has a duty of care to its members. In order to keep club members safe during YFC activities, each club works to the following policies:
Data Protection
All paid up members of Gwent YFC are covered by YFC insurance when attending club meetings, trips and competitions. All clubs have public liability insurance in place.
County & Club Events
At all county & Club run events, we ensure that members under 18 provide a consent form which confirms that their parents/guardians know where they are and that they give their consent for them to attend. Any under 18 member that attends a county run event without one of these forms won't be allowed entry.
Parental Consent form - Parental Consent and Photography Form
